Recent research from the Medical University of Vienna found that cold temperatures promote higher vitamin A levels, encouraging correct fat burning. It means that the body initiates white fat burning. This is precisely the fat where the body stores excess calories. The research found that cold temperatures boost vitamin A levels which then induces the processes of white fat burning in the body.
An experimental group of people was exposed to cold temperatures, and a blood test for vitamin A was performed. The researchers also extracted abdominal fat cells from four donors. After the extracted cells were stimulated with vitamin A., they performed a browning behaviour.
The research finding showed that vitamin A is a potent stimulator of proper fat-burning processes. It regulates fat cell function. Knowing how vitamin A regulates lipid combustion and heat generation within cold temperatures helps develop new methodologies of weight gain and obesity treatment. Still, the researchers warn against increasing vitamin A doses for fat-burning and weight loss.
